Development Log #2 - Build Distributions
As requested, there are now builds available on other platforms.
While there are Mac and Linux builds, I am unable to test them but I believe they should work.
For anyone working within Ren'Py and is about to build, add these lines to your options.rpy file.
It will archive your game files so it cannot be accessed by the player (to gatekeep those granny lovers).
While it's not completely foolproof, it is enough of a deterrent.
If you're building for mobile and notice the sizes are different, there are parameters at the bottom of screens.rpy that allow you to adjust the mobile values without having to touch the other values. You can change the variant for different screen sizes, more info here on what device each variant is for: https://www.renpy.org/doc/html/android.html
I'd recommend copy and pasting your game folder and renaming it to "Your Game - Android" just so you can mess around with other values if you need to, without affecting the original game.
However, while the game ran fine for me on mobile, the dialogue and textbox varied from screen to screen. This is going to take a little bit more time to figure out but when I do, I'll probably upload an Android version.
Here is how you would setup your custom icons and splashes for your builds. They sit in your game's root directory. Use the same naming convention. I did not include any presplashes but there is also an option for that, more info here: https://www.renpy.org/doc/html/splashscreen_presplash.html
icon.ico is used for Windows.
icon.icns is used for Mac.
Use an online image converter for these.
